Chisari’s three-touchdown day powers Queen’s past Waterloo

It was a dominating performance for the Queen’s Gaels on Saturday afternoon, spoiling Waterloo's homecoming in a game that was never in the Warrior's reach.

58-18 was the final score and it didn’t take long for the tricolour to get going.

The Gaels set the tone early in the game. Running back Jared Chisari would break loose for an opening touchdown, shortly after, backup quarterback Anthony Lio would sub on to run in for another score.

Waterloo wasn’t able to manage much offensively, ending the first quarter 14-0.

The second quarter was more competitive, but Waterloo still couldn’t keep pace. A field goal got the Warriors going, only for Queen’s to respond in waves.

Gaels receiver Cedric Smith hauled in a highlight-reel grab early in the frame.

Waterloo then conceded a safety, and Jared Chisari punched in his second touchdown of the day.

The Warriors finally found the end zone late, but the Gaels were firmly in control, taking a 32–10 lead into halftime.

Unfortunately, the first half ended on a sour note, as Warriors quarterback Nick Orr took a monster hit from linebacker Justin Pace, needing medical help to leave the field. Pace was ejected for the rest of the game.

The second half was all about Queen’s slamming the door shut. They opened with another touchdown, added a second safety, and stretched the lead with a 42-yard field goal from kicker Tyler Mullan.

Then Jared Chisari stole the show with his third touchdown, breaking free for a 105-yard highlight-reel score that pushed the lead to 40 heading into the fourth.

Both sides would add one more touchdown in the final frame, sealing a 58–18 win for the tricolour.

From start to finish, the Gaels were in control. The only lingering question is whether Justin Pace will face further discipline for his hit on Nick Orr, who the Warriors hope can return to action soon.

With the win, Queen’s (3-2) heads back to Kingston to host the York Lions (2-2) next week, while Waterloo (1-4) travels to Windsor to meet the Lancers (2-2).
